本日は6月以来となる、災害救助犬十日町との合同訓練会を本社資材置き場にて開催しました。気温4℃。前日の夜からの冷たい雨の中でしたが、5ヵ月の将来有望なサーチドッグ候補犬や前回の合同訓練会以降の地道な訓練で成長し認定試験を視野にいれた訓練など、各unitごとに熱い訓練の時間を過ごすことができました。NSAからは、5名5頭。DRDTからは、7名8頭が参加し、カテゴリー別にそれぞれの課題に取り組みました。
NSA Joint Training Session with Tokamachi Disaster Search and Rescue Dogs (DRDT) – November 23, 2025
On Sunday, November 23, 2025, we held a joint training session with Disaster Rescue Dogs Tokamachi (DRDT) at NSA’s headquarters training facility—the first such gathering since our June training in Niigata.
Despite the cold rain and a temperature of 4°C, the atmosphere was warm with shared purpose and dedication.
Among the participants was a promising 5-month-old search dog candidate, as well as several teams who had shown significant growth through steady training since our last session—now working toward official certification. Each unit engaged in focused and passionate training throughout the day.
NSA was represented by 5 handlers and 5 dogs, while DRDT brought 7 handlers and 8 dogs.
We divided into category-specific groups to work on individual training goals and challenges.

Disaster training

環境と人への馴致トレーニング

私たちは、犬が新しい環境において、見知らぬ第三者にためらうことなく自信を持って積極的に近づき、過度なプレッシャーなく報酬を受け取れるようにすることで、捜索犬としての経験を着実に積み重ねることを目指しています。
We aim to steadily build experience as a search dog by allowing the dog to confidently and proactively approach unfamiliar third parties in a new environment, without hesitation, and to receive rewards without undue pressure.

3頭とも高い意欲と情緒の安定性を示しました。訓練と経験構築を慎重かつ一貫して進めていきましょう。新しい環境、見知らぬ人々、雨にもかかわらず、ためらいなく訓練を楽しむことができました。
All three dogs showed high motivation and emotional stability. Let’s continue to move forward with their training and experience-building carefully and consistently. Despite the new environment, unfamiliar people, and the rain, they were able to enjoy the training without any hesitation.

適性試験に向けて

6月の合同訓練会では、服従訓練も含めていくつかの課題に取り組んでいたunit。捜索もバークアラートの安定性を目標にしており今回の訓練会では成長が見られました。
The unit that had worked on several challenges, including obedience training, during the joint training session in June showed noticeable growth in this training session. Their search work, which has focused on improving the consistency of bark alerts, also showed clear progress.

訓練を進める事と成長段階での課題にもぶつかりますが、その度に要因を分析しながら確実に1歩ずつステップを踏んでいく事で精度の高い捜索能力の基礎が確立されます。
While progressing through training, it is natural to encounter challenges during various stages of development. However, by carefully analyzing the root causes each time and steadily taking one step at a time, a solid foundation for high-precision search capabilities can be built.

認定試験を目指して

一定のエリア内での捜索に対しての集中と意欲もうまれてきています。
The dogs are beginning to show increased focus and motivation during searches within a defined area.

閉鎖空間や障害物に対しても躊躇なく要救助者をピンポイントで発見告知ができるようにunitごとに課題を設定した訓練をすることで、現在地点の確認ができた。認定試験に向けて、服従訓練も含めたレベルアップは必須。6月よりも告知はスムーズになっているので、これからが楽しみです。
By conducting unit-specific training designed to develop pinpoint alerting of victims even in enclosed spaces or around obstacles, we were able to assess each team’s current status. Moving forward, leveling up—including obedience training—is essential in preparation for the certification exam. Alert behavior has become smoother compared to June, so we’re looking forward to continued progress.

設定難易度ごとの訓練

建物の特定と、室内捜索でのピンポイントアラートの設定と、オンリードでの車両の捜索。訓練を重ねるごとに捜索精度や反応の明確な観察ができるようになっている。
The training included building identification, pinpoint alerts during indoor searches, and on-lead vehicle searches. With each training session, both the precision of the search and the clarity of the dog’s responses have visibly improved.

HRD training

捜索開始3時間前にDisaster Trainigを行った同じエリアに原臭を設定し、設定されている2か所の捜索を行った。
Approximately three hours after Disaster Search training in the same area, two locations were set with source odor, and searches were conducted accordingly.

unitは、TFRは安定しているので、今後も捜索面積を広げ、新しい環境下でも自信を持って捜索をし、ハンドラーはサーチドッグの些細な反応も見逃さないようにスキルアップを続けていきたい。
The unit has demonstrated stable Target Final Response (TFR), so moving forward, we aim to expand the search areas and build confidence in working under new environmental conditions. At the same time, handlers will continue developing their skills to ensure they do not overlook even the most subtle reactions from their search dogs.
