あの時、そして今できる事

2011年3月11日。
東日本一帯を襲った、マグニチュード9の巨大地震から10年という節目を迎えました。

あの日の出来事を、どのように「今」に活かし、そして「未来」へつないでいくのか？
その問いと向き合いながら、私たちはこの10年間、活動を続けてきました。

日本サーチドッグアソシエーションのメンバーは、前法人であるNPO法人 災害救助犬ネットワークとして、2007年の新潟中越沖地震での捜索活動を起点に、災害現場での捜索に関わってきました。

東日本大震災では、広域捜索の難しさ、そして組織や機関を越えた連携の重要性を、強く突きつけられることとなりました。

将来、必ず起こるとされている大規模災害。
そして、日常の中で発生する行方不明者捜索。

過去の経験を糧に、「今、私たちに何ができるのか」を問い続けることこそが、次の現場で命につながる一歩になると信じています。

これからも、法人・団体・チーム・個人との連携をさらに深めながら、捜索の現場で信頼される人と犬の育成に、誠実に取り組んでまいります。

We reached the 10-year milestone since the magnitude 9.0 mega-earthquake struck eastern Japan.
How can we carry forward the events of that day into the “present,” and connect them to the “future”?
Facing this question, we have continued our activities over the past decade.
Members of the Japan Search Dog Association were previously active under our former organization, the NPO Disaster Rescue Dog Network. Beginning with search operations during the 2007 Niigata Chuetsu-Oki Earthquake, we have been involved in disaster search efforts ever since.
During the Great East Japan Earthquake, we were confronted with the immense challenges of wide-area search operations, as well as the critical importance of cooperation that transcends organizations and institutions.
Large-scale disasters that are said to be inevitable in the future.
And missing person searches that occur in our everyday lives.
Drawing upon past experience, we believe that continually asking ourselves, “What can we do now?” is the very step that will lead to saving lives at the next scene.
Moving forward, we will continue to deepen collaboration with corporations, organizations, teams, and individuals, and sincerely dedicate ourselves to training trusted handlers and dogs who can perform reliably in the field of search operations.
