NSA Trailing/Disaster/HRD Training

2025年7月13日（日曜日）Trailing/Disaster/HRD 訓練会を開催しました。AM5:00相模原市内の公園にてTrailingの訓練を開始し、その後、場所を「モナの丘」BBQ広場に移動し、HRDならびにDisasterの訓練を行った。
Trailing / Disaster / HRD Training Session – Sunday, July 13, 2025
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, we held a Trailing / Disaster / HRD training session. The Trailing unit began training at 5:00 AM in a park within Sagamihara City. Afterwards, the training location shifted to the “Mona no Oka” BBQ area, where HRD and Disaster training sessions were conducted.

Trailing training

新しい環境下での訓練は刺激的である。それゆえに犬の挙動にも変化が大きく誘惑臭への反応と臭跡への反応の見極めの難易度も上がる。ポジティブとネガティブの見極めは、ディストラクションを無視する事が大前提で考える必要があるが、その途中の過程の基礎訓練が不可欠であり取り組むべき内容である。
Training in a new environment is stimulating, which naturally causes noticeable changes in the dogs’ behavior. This makes it more challenging to distinguish between reactions to distracting scents and genuine scent trails. While the ability to ignore distractions should be considered a fundamental skill when interpreting positive and negative indications, the foundational training that builds this skill must not be overlooked and should continue to be a key focus moving forward.

ヘルパーへの経験値

今回の訓練では、環境の変化以外にも同じチームメンバーの中から今までヘルパーの経験の少ないメンバーをヘルパーにし、今までヘルパーの経験が多いメンバーを訓練サポートで動いてもらった。捜索中に、今までヘルパー経験の多いメンバーがトレール上に立っていたり、ベンチに座っていたり、目の前に立っている事で、犬にとっては、とても大きなディストラクションでもあり、本来到達するべきヘルパーとの選別作業という難易度の高い訓練にもなる設定であった。
In this training session, in addition to the change in environment, we assigned less experienced team members to act as helpers, while members with more helper experience took on training support roles. During the searches, situations were deliberately set up where the experienced helpers stood along the trail, sat on benches, or appeared directly in front of the dogs. For the dogs, these scenarios acted as major distractions, effectively turning the exercise into a highly challenging scent discrimination task—requiring them to ignore the familiar figures and correctly identify and reach the actual helper they were meant to locate.

HRD training

新しい環境下での狭いエリアでのブラインド捜索。時々、害鳥駆除用の発砲音が響き、捜索への集中を邪魔する環境下。苦手意識の克服に取り組むための訓練でもある。
Blind searches were conducted in a confined area within a new environment. Occasionally, gunshot sounds from bird control operations echoed through the area, creating distractions that interfered with the dogs’ concentration during searches. This training also served as an opportunity to help the dogs overcome their sensitivity to such challenging conditions.

意欲が勝り指定アリアを細かく捜索させることを考えた場合のハンドラーの判断は、捜索の精度を高めることにもつながる。
When the dog’s drive becomes too strong, the handler’s decision to slow the search and have the dog systematically work through the designated area can directly contribute to improving search accuracy.

TFR

環境変化や気温と湿度の変化など、いつもの訓練とは違う環境下では、常に基礎となるTFRの訓練が不可欠である。原臭に対して素早く告知ができるように今後も基礎訓練を大切に取り組んでいきたい。
In environments different from usual training conditions—such as changes in surroundings, temperature, and humidity—consistent foundational TFR training remains essential. We will continue to focus on foundational work to ensure that dogs can give quick and reliable alerts upon detecting the target scent.

Disaster training

unitの課題として、閉鎖空間への素早い告知に取り組んでいる。新しい環境でも要救助者からのセントコーンへの反応と素早い告知は、今後も基礎訓練から取り組んで、安定した精度の高い捜索活動に活かしていきたい。
As a unit-wide challenge, we are working on achieving quicker alerts in enclosed spaces. Even in new environments, the dogs’ reaction to the victim’s scent cone and prompt alert behavior are areas we aim to strengthen through continued foundational training, applying these skills to achieve stable and highly accurate search performance.
