NSA Trailing/Disaster/HRD Training

2025年11月09日（日曜日）Trailing/Disaster/HRD 訓練会を開催しました。朝から雨が降る環境下でしたがAM6:00 本社資材置き場に集合し、先日の出動に関しての振り返りを行い、今回の活動で得られた教訓、継続的な課題、今後の捜索活動に取り組むべき重要な訓練要素などのミーティングを行った。HRD unitは、TFRの強化を目的とし、いくつかの設定でエリア捜索を行い告知精度を高める訓練に臨みました。Disaster unitは、建物内の要救助者に対しての反応の確認と侵入後の告知や遮蔽空間への告知の設定などを行いました。Trailing unitは、雨が上がった時間を活用して市街地で各unitの課題に対しての基礎訓練とステップアップの設定訓練を行いました。
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, a Trailing / Disaster / HRD training session was held.
Despite the rainy weather from early morning, we gathered at 6:00 AM at the headquarters equipment yard.
We began the day with a debriefing meeting to reflect on the recent deployment. During the discussion, we reviewed key lessons learned from the operation, ongoing challenges, and essential training components that should be incorporated into future search activities.
The HRD unit conducted area searches under several scenarios focused on enhancing TFR (Target Final Response). The objective was to improve the accuracy and reliability of alert behavior through practical, task-oriented exercises.
The Disaster unit carried out training scenarios designed to confirm the dogs’ response to victims located inside structures. Additional setups were included to strengthen alert performance after building entry, as well as in confined and obstructed spaces.
Once the rain had cleared, the Trailing unit moved into an urban environment to conduct both foundational and step-up training tailored to the current challenges of each team. The focus was on reinforcing key skills and progressing toward the next level of operational readiness.

HRD Unit

気温12度・湿度76％・微風の中での狭いエリアでのTFR訓練。多くの障害物への対応が要求される設定とオープンスペースでのハンドリングとTFRの精度に取り組んだ。今後は、資材置き場敷地内全体を使用した訓練も視野に入れ取り組みたい。
TFR Training in a Confined Area — Temperature 12°C / Humidity 76% / Light Breeze
In a confined training area under conditions of 12°C temperature, 76% humidity, and a light breeze, we conducted a focused TFR (Target Final Response) training session. The scenario required dogs to respond appropriately to numerous obstacles and environmental challenges, while also maintaining precise alert behavior in open-space conditions.
The handling approach and the accuracy of the TFR were key training elements, especially in areas where distractions and spatial complexity demanded heightened concentration and coordination between handler and dog.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand our training scope by utilizing the entire headquarters equipment yard, enabling more dynamic and varied search scenarios to further improve operational capabilities.

Disaster Unit

指定エリアの中から、建物の特定を行い、建物への侵入後に室内捜索。要救助者へ告知を持続する設定と、ブルーシートで覆われた、奥行きの広い遮蔽空間で要救助者の位置を特定する設定を実施。
Search and Alert Training in Designated Buildings and Concealed Spaces
Within the designated area, teams were tasked with identifying a specific building and, upon entry, conducting an indoor search. The scenarios included sustaining a continuous alert upon locating the victim, as well as pinpointing the location of a victim concealed within a deep, tarp-covered space.

Trailing Unit

雨上がりで臭跡への認識は高く、ネガティブ反応も分かり易くなっていた。住宅街・幅員の広い路面・幹線道路沿い・多くのディストラクションと訓練の難易度は高いが、求めるべきは犬への信頼に他ならない。その為にも、基礎訓練を繰り返しながら捜索精度を高めていきたい。
Post-Rain Trailing: Enhanced Scent Awareness and Trust Building
After the rain, the dogs showed heightened recognition of scent trails, and their negative indications became easier to observe. The training environment—residential areas, wide roads, main thoroughfares, and numerous distractions—posed a high level of difficulty. Nevertheless, what we must ultimately rely on is trust in the dog. To build that trust and improve search accuracy, we will continue to emphasize consistent foundational training.
