2025年4月13日（日曜日）Trailing/HRD 訓練会を開催しました。AM6:00 MAPLE DOGに集合しTrailingは、市街地および緑地帯で各unitの課題に対しての基礎訓練を行いました。ワークショップ後、訓練会と言う事もあり、学んだことの復習と各ペアの改善した点などを確認しながら次のステップに向けての訓練に臨みました。
On Sunday, April 13, 2025, we held a Trailing/HRD training session.
We gathered at MAPLE DOG at 6:00 AM, and the Trailing teams conducted foundational training in both urban and green areas, focusing on each unit’s specific challenges.
As this was a training session following the workshop, teams reviewed what they had learned, confirmed the improvements made by each pair, and proceeded with exercises aimed at the next stage of their development.
モチベーションラン
Motivation run
ワークショップでもモチベーションランで意欲や集中力の向上が見られましたので、今回の訓練会も全てのペアでモチベーションランからスタートし次の設定にステップアップするカリキュラムとした。
Since we observed improvements in drive and focus through motivation runs during the workshop, this training session also began with a motivation run for all pairs. From there, each team stepped up to the next level of training based on a progressive curriculum.
セントアーティクルトレーニング
scent articles training
セントアーティクルトレーニングでは、経過時間は置かずに距離は100m～150m程度とし、2回以上の地質変更と4か所の屈折という設定内容で行なった。
For the scent article training, no aging time was applied. The distance was set to approximately 100 to 150 meters, with at least two changes in ground surface and four turns incorporated into the track design.
臭跡
Scent Trail
オープンスペースの車道からネガティブ反応のボディーランゲージと共に緑地帯へ続く臭跡に対してポジティブで自信を持った明確な反応が見られるようになってきた。
We began to observe clear, confident, and positive responses to the scent trail leading from the open roadway into the greenbelt, accompanied by negative body language toward non-target areas.
HRD
今回の訓練会の開催予定ではモナの丘を予定していましたが、ワークショップで学び再確認できた点について、MAPLE DOGでブロックサーチとオープンスペースを活用したTFRのトレーニングを行った。
Although the original plan was to hold the training session at Mona Hill, we decided to conduct TFR training at MAPLE DOG instead, utilizing block searches and open spaces. This change was made to reinforce and revisit the key points learned during the workshop.
シングルブロックでのTFRの確認
Confirmation of TFR in a single block setting
犬が表現するナチュラルアラートを優先しつつも、トレーニングにより確立された告知動作を日頃からのトレーニングで精度を高めることが、環境の変化にも対応し実働でも信頼性の高い捜索につながります。
While prioritizing the natural alerts expressed by the dog, it is equally important to refine the trained indication behaviors through regular practice. Doing so enhances the accuracy of alerts and enables reliable performance even under changing environmental conditions during real deployments.
複数ブロックの選別とTFR
Selection among multiple blocks and TFR
原臭のホットポイントとクリアのコールドポイントを選別しホットポイントでTFR。原臭に対しての認識が安定していれば、どのようなバリエーションでブロックが置かれていても選別は可能。ブラインドで行う事でペアとしての信頼性の確認にはとても重要なトレーニング。
We conducted TFR at hot points containing the target odor, while also including cold points that were clear of scent for selection.
If the dog has a stable recognition of the target odor, selection is possible regardless of how the blocks are arranged.
Performing this exercise in a blind setting is a highly important training method to assess and strengthen the reliability of the handler-dog team.
初歩犬の導入トレーニング
Introductory training for novice dogs
現在、エアセントに取り組んでいるペアだが、ワークショップ後にHRDのトレーニングも導入する事となり原臭のペアリングを進め、選別作業やTFRへ無理なくステップアップしていきます。
This team is currently working on airscent training, but following the workshop, they have also begun incorporating HRD training.
They are now progressing with target odor pairing and will gradually and naturally step up to selection work and TFR exercises.
エリアサーチ
Area search
狭い面積だが、ブロックサーチだけではなくオープンエリアでの自由捜索も必要不可欠なトレーニング。ハンドラーとの距離間やTFRの実行性などをチェック。TFRの際にスクラッチ行動に発展せずに安定したTFRを実行する事が重要。
Although the training area was limited in size, free search in open areas—alongside block search—was also an essential part of the training.
The session focused on checking handler-dog distance management and the feasibility of executing TFR.
It is important that the dog performs a stable TFR without escalating into scratching behaviors during the indication phase.
