NSA Trailing/Disaster/HRD Training

2024年7月16日（日曜日）小雨の中、AM5:00よりTrailing/Disaster/HRD 訓練会を開催しました。
On July 16, 2024 (Sunday), Trailing, Disaster Search, and HRD training were conducted starting at 05:00 AM under light rain conditions.

Trailing Unit

Trailingは、認定犬と適性試験合格犬・適性試験を目指すペアごとの設定で行い、雨の中でしたが、それぞれの成長が見られる訓練となりました。犬の成長にハンドラーの観察力とハンドリングスキルを追い越されないように今後も取り組んでいきましょう。
In the Trailing training, scenarios were prepared for certified dogs, dogs that had passed the aptitude test, and pairs working toward the aptitude test. Although the training was conducted in rainy conditions, clear progress was observed in each team.
As the dogs continue to develop, handlers must continue refining their observation and handling skills to ensure they keep pace with the dogs’ progress.

Disaster Unit

Disasterの初歩犬は、前回とは環境設定を変更し、引き続きヘルパーに対しての意欲の向上と告知のスピードや持続を考慮しての訓練となりました。アドバンスクラスのペアは、設定の難易度を高めたり残留臭への反応の違いと要求救助者のピンポイントの特定や臭いの流れの確認と犬の挙動をどう読み解くか？などの確認作業を行いました。
In the Disaster training, beginner dogs worked in a modified environment compared to the previous session. Training continued to focus on strengthening motivation toward the helper, as well as improving the speed and persistence of the alert behavior.
For the advanced pairs, the difficulty of the scenarios was increased. The teams worked on identifying differences in the dogs’ responses to residual scent, accurately locating the victim’s position, and interpreting scent movement and canine behavior during the search.

HRD Unit

HRDは、フレッシュな原臭の準備が出来ていましたので、10時間程度の時間経過後の原臭に対してのサーチドッグの反応と告知精度の動きを確認できました。また設定の段階で、環境条件での特定ができないように工夫をしながら、ペアごとの課題と強化トレーニングができました。
In the HRD training, fresh source material was prepared, enabling the teams to evaluate the dogs’ response and alert accuracy to a primary odor source after approximately 10 hours of aging time.
During the scenario setup, precautions were taken to ensure that the source location could not be determined from environmental indicators alone. This allowed each team to work on their individual training objectives and reinforcement exercises.

生憎の天気でしたが、捜索する際の天候に左右されないような日頃からの訓練は、とても大切な要素です。シチュエーションに合わせた装備と共に、捜索の戦略をチームで共有する事が、今後の出動にもつながると思います。早朝よりご苦労様でした。
Although the weather conditions were not ideal, it is essential to conduct regular training so that search operations can be carried out regardless of weather conditions.
Preparing the appropriate equipment for each situation, along with sharing search strategies within the team, will help strengthen our readiness for future deployments.
