【活動報告】全国救護活動研究会（CSRM）にてサーチドッグのデモンストレーションを実施

2023年9月7日・8日に開催された「全国救護活動研究会（CSRM）」において、八櫛代表よりサーチドッグのデモンストレーションのご要請をいただき、NSAより**ハンドラー3名・認定犬1頭（ジーノ号）**が参加いたしました。
During the National Rescue Medical Activities Research Meeting (CSRM) held on September 7–8, 2023, NSA was invited by Mr. Yakushi to conduct a search dog demonstration.
NSA participated with three handlers and one certified search dog (Gino).

■ 第64回 CSRMベーシックコースにてデモ実施（1日目）

「第64回CSRMベーシックコース」の講義時間の一部をお借りし、サーチドッグの活用についての基本的な説明と、エアセント認定犬による実演デモンストレーションを行いました。
During the 64th CSRM Basic Course, NSA was provided with time during the lecture program to present a basic introduction to the operational use of search dogs, followed by a demonstration by a certified Air Scent search dog.

■ 参加者の背景と現場の認識

今回の講義には、消防隊員・救急救命士・看護師・警察官など、実際の災害現場で活動される方々が多数参加されていました。
中には、「救助犬を現場で見たことがない」「活用された経験がない」という方も多く、主催者からは、アンケートにおいて「救助犬には現場に来てほしくない」という声が70%近くあったというお話も共有されました。

その主な理由としては、「救助犬の活用方法が分からない」という認識の不足が挙げられていました。

The audience consisted largely of professionals involved in real disaster response operations, including firefighters, paramedics, nurses, and police officers.
Many participants mentioned that they had never seen a search dog used in an operational setting and had no experience working alongside search dog teams.
According to feedback shared by the organizers, nearly 70% of respondents in a pre-event survey indicated that they would prefer rescue dogs not to be deployed at their operational scenes, illustrating the current lack of familiarity with search dog capabilities.

The main reason identified was a lack of awareness and understanding regarding the practical use of search dogs in field operations.

■ NSAからの取り組み内容

NSAでは、限られた時間ではありましたが、

• 具体的な活用方法
  
  Although the time was limited, NSA introduced several key points, including:
• The characteristics of search and rescue dogs
• Their strengths and limitations
• Practical applications and methods of deployment in operational settings

についてお伝えし、さらにエアセント認定犬「ジーノ号」による簡易的な捜索デモも実施いたしました。
NSA explained these points and also carried out a short search demonstration using the certified Air Scent dog “Gino.”

■ デモ後の反響と意義

デモの後半では、参加者の皆様からも多くのご質問をいただき、救助犬に対する理解を深めていただくことができたと感じています。災害現場や行方不明者の捜索において、サーチドッグが迅速かつ有効に活動できることをご理解いただく、貴重な機会となりました。
In the latter part of the demonstration, many participants raised questions, and it became clear that their understanding of search and rescue dogs had deepened.
The session provided a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how search dogs can operate rapidly and effectively in both disaster response and missing person search operations.

■ 2日目の中止について

残念ながら2日目は、台風の接近による大雨の影響で、予定されていたデモンストレーションは中止となりました。
Unfortunately, the second day’s demonstration was canceled due to heavy rainfall associated with an approaching typhoon.

■ 今後の展望

今回のような機会を通じて、捜索救助活動におけるサーチドッグの有効性を多くの実務者に伝え、正しく理解していただくことが、今後の活動の質をさらに高めるものと考えております。
Through opportunities such as this, it is important to share the effectiveness of search dogs in search and rescue operations with field professionals and deepen their understanding of their operational value. We believe that this will contribute to improving the overall quality of future search and rescue activities.
