NSA Trailing/Disaster/HRD Training

10月13日（日曜日）AM5:30からTrailing/Disaster/HRD 訓練会を開催しました。ようやく朝の気温も低くなり訓練に最適な季節の到来です。
On Sunday, October 13, Trailing, Disaster Search, and HRD training were conducted beginning at 05:30 AM.
With the morning temperatures gradually dropping, the conditions have become more favorable for training.

Trailing Unit

Trailingは、今回から新しいユニットの仲間も増え、また今回初めて参加のヘルパーのお手伝いをして頂くメンバーも参加して頂き、基礎段階からの訓練を中心にユニットごとに現在の課題への取り組みを行いました。
In the Trailing training, new units joined the team, and several members participated for the first time as helpers.
The training focused on foundational exercises, allowing each unit to address their current training objectives and challenges.

夏季とは違い犬の動きも活発になり、反応も速くなっていますのでハンドラーの犬を見る観察力と共にハンドリングが重要なポイントになります。
Compared to the summer season, the cooler conditions resulted in more active movement and faster responses from the dogs.
As a result, the handler’s ability to observe the dog’s behavior and apply appropriate handling techniques becomes a critical factor during the search.

Disaster Unit

Disasterは、初歩のユニットは新しいヘルパーへの告知強化を行い、環境設定を変えずに初めてのヘルパーに対しての告知ができる事を目的とします。なかなか、新しいヘルパーのサポートをお願いすることも難しい事ですので、良いチャンスでした。
In the Disaster search training, beginner units focused on strengthening their alert behavior toward newly introduced helpers.
The goal was to ensure that the dogs could confidently indicate unfamiliar helpers without changing the environmental setup.
Opportunities to train with new helpers are not always easy to arrange, making this session a particularly valuable training opportunity.

実働unitは、ブラインド設定での実働想定に基づいた捜索を行いました。
In the Disaster training, operational units conducted blind search exercises designed to simulate real deployment scenarios.

ハンドラーの先入観念や捜索パターンが、犬の反応を見落としてしまう要因にもなることを実感できる訓練となりましたし、捜索中の捜索のハンドリングと危険回避の為のコントロール（オビディエンス）の必要性と重要性も再認識した訓練となりました。捜索に対する意欲と集中力は言う迄もなく必要不可欠な要素ですが、必要以上の高い意欲捜索だけで危険回避ができないunitは実働での二次災害の恐れも出てきます。捜索における服従性は、安全に捜索をする上でとても大切な技術です。
The training highlighted that handler assumptions or rigid search patterns can sometimes result in missed canine indications. This served as an important learning opportunity.
The session also reinforced the importance of proper handling during search operations and the need for obedience-based control to prevent hazards.
Although strong search motivation and focus are essential for search dogs, excessive drive without adequate control may increase the risk of secondary incidents during operational deployments.
For this reason, obedience and controllability during search work are essential skills for conducting safe and effective search operations.

HRD Unit

HRDは、前回に引き続きハンドラーと犬の距離間を意識して犬の捜索意欲や自主性の強化訓練を行いました。今回の設定は、エリアを広げませんでしたが、多くの障害物の中からの原臭の特定を目的としました。
In the HRD training, the session continued to emphasize maintaining proper handler–dog working distance, while strengthening the dogs’ search drive and independent search initiative.
In this scenario, the search area was not expanded; instead, the objective was for the dogs to locate the primary odor source within a cluttered environment containing multiple obstacles.

スタート位置からは、風の流れは逆でしたが全てのunitは意欲的に風下方向に移動し、セントコーンを捉える事ができていました。告知動作に関しては、今後も強化をしていきましょう。
Although the wind direction at the starting point was unfavorable, all units showed strong search motivation and moved downwind, successfully locating the scent cone from the source.
The dogs demonstrated clear scent recognition, and future training will continue to focus on strengthening and refining the alert behavior.
