NSA Search Dog Certification Evaluation & Aptitude Test

2026年5月31日（日曜日）、NSAサーチドッグ認定審査会を開催いたしました。同日、サーチドッグ適性試験も併催し、次世代を担う新たなサーチドッグ候補の誕生を確認することができました。各ユニットが日々積み重ねてきたトレーニングの成果が随所に見られ、大変意義のある審査会となりました。
また、連携団体である災害救助犬十日町からも5頭が審査に参加し、それぞれが日頃のトレーニング成果を発揮しました。今回よりNSA認定制度の改定に伴い、オビディエンスおよび各捜索カテゴリーの試験規定・実施要綱を見直し、より実働現場を意識した評価基準へと移行しました。犬の作業能力だけでなく、ハンドラーの判断力やチームとしての運用能力についても重視した審査内容となりました。
On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the NSA Search Dog Certification Evaluation was conducted.
An Aptitude Assessment was also held alongside the certification event, resulting in the emergence of several promising next-generation search dog candidates. The event provided an excellent opportunity to observe the progress achieved through each unit’s ongoing training efforts.
Five dogs from our partner organization, Disaster Search Dog Tokamachi, also participated in the evaluation and demonstrated the results of their continued training.
In conjunction with revisions to the NSA certification system, updated standards and evaluation guidelines for both obedience and search disciplines were introduced. These changes were designed to more closely reflect real operational requirements. The assessment therefore placed greater emphasis not only on canine working ability, but also on handler decision-making and effective team performance under realistic deployment conditions.

オビディエンス審査

基本課目における理解度と実行性について確認を行いました。各課目を通じて、犬とハンドラーの関係性やコマンドに対する実行性を評価し、今後のサーチドッグトレーニングの基礎となる要素を確認することができました。
The evaluation focused on the dogs’ understanding and execution of fundamental obedience exercises. Through a series of exercises, the relationship between dog and handler, as well as the dog’s responsiveness and reliability in executing commands, were assessed to confirm the foundational elements required for future search dog training.

Trailing適性試験（捜索）

物品と臭跡の関連付け、捜索意欲、臭跡へのコミットメントについて評価を行いました。環境からの影響やディストラクションに対する反応を確認しながら、Trailing犬として必要な基礎的資質を確認することができました。
The assessment focused on scent article association, search motivation, and commitment to the target trail. Reactions to environmental influences and distractions were evaluated to confirm the fundamental aptitude required for Trailing work.

HRD適性試験（捜索）

原臭への反応、セントコーンの認識、ソースへのコミットメントについて確認を行いました。環境条件の変化に対する適応力や、捜索中に見られる行動特性を評価し、HRD犬としての適性を確認しました。
The assessment evaluated responses to source odor, scent cone recognition, and commitment to the odor source. Adaptability to environmental conditions and behavioral characteristics observed during the search were examined to determine suitability for HRD work.

Disaster適性試験（捜索）

要救助者への意欲、捜索行動、告知への移行について評価を行いました。新しい環境や障害物に対する反応を確認しながら、Disasterサーチドッグとしての将来的な可能性を確認することができました。
The assessment focused on victim motivation, search behavior, and transition to alert behavior. Reactions to novel environments and obstacles were evaluated to determine the dog’s future potential as a Disaster Search Dog.

Disaster認定試験（捜索）

捜索能力、告知精度、ハンドラーとの連携、安全管理を含めた総合的な評価を実施しました。実働を想定した環境下においても安定した作業能力が確認され、認定基準に基づいた審査を行いました。
A comprehensive evaluation was conducted, including search performance, alert accuracy, handler teamwork, and operational safety. Stable working ability was demonstrated under operationally realistic conditions, and certification assessments were completed according to established standards.
