NSA Disaster Training

春本番の陽気に包まれた中、神奈川県・三増資材置き場にてNSA主催のエアセント訓練会を開催いたしました。
今回は、ヘルパー 4名が参加し、各ユニットの課題に応じた実践的なトレーニングを行いました。

In the pleasant warmth of full spring, NSA hosted an Air Scent training session at the Mimasu Materials Yard in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Four helpers participated in this session, and practical training was conducted in accordance with the specific challenges and developmental needs of each unit.

🌬 犬の反応から「風」を読む

今回の訓練では、特にハンドラーのハンドリングスキルの向上をテーマとし、風の流れやセントコーンに対する犬の反応を細かく観察。
単に犬を進行方向へ導くのではなく、「なぜこの動きをしたのか？」「どこから臭気が届いたのか？」を読み解くことで、より的確な捜索につながる手応えを得ることができました。
In this training session, particular emphasis was placed on improving the handlers’ handling skills, with careful observation of wind patterns and the dogs’ responses to scent cones.
Rather than simply directing the dogs forward, we focused on interpreting their behavior—asking, “Why did the dog make this movement?” and “From where did the scent originate?” By analyzing these elements, we gained valuable insight that led to more accurate and effective search performance.

🔁 継続的な訓練の大切さ

今後も、訓練会を定期的に開催し、チーム全体のスキル向上はもちろん、犬と人の信頼関係を築く継続訓練の場として、引き続き取り組んでまいります。
We will continue to hold regular training sessions, not only to enhance the overall skills of the team but also to provide ongoing training opportunities that strengthen the trust and partnership between dogs and handlers.
