NSA Trailing/Disaster/HRD 訓練会レポート_2026.05.10

2026年4月12日（日曜日）、Trailing／Disaster／HRD訓練会を開催しました。
今回の訓練会では、訓練補助にご協力いただける方々にもご参加いただき、各分野で実働を想定した実践的なトレーニングを行いました。
Trailingでは、ヘルパーの協力のもと、基礎となるモチベーションランを含め、物品と臭跡の関連付けを確認しました。
また、屈折、オープンスペースにおける臭跡への反応、ディストラクション環境下でのハンドリングなどを設定し、各ユニットの反応や今後の課題を確認しました。
HRDでは、セントコーンを捉えやすい条件と、建物外における比較的セントコーンを捉えにくい条件の両方でトレーニングを実施しました。
障害物が複雑に配置された環境下において、原臭へのアプローチ、犬の反応、ハンドラーの読み取りについて検証を行いました。
Disasterでは、捜索エリア内に複数の要救助者役が存在する条件下での捜索と、閉鎖空間内の要救助者役に対する告知の確認を行いました。
また、初歩段階の犬については、ヘルパーへの意欲づけとバークアラートの強化を目的に、建物内への進入を含めた告知トレーニングを実施しました。
NSAでは、今後も各ユニットの段階に応じた訓練を継続し、実働現場で求められる犬の作業能力、ハンドラーの判断力、安全なチーム運用の向上に努めてまいります。

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, NSA held a training session covering Trailing, Disaster Search, and HRD.
With the support of volunteers who assisted as training helpers, each discipline was conducted with a practical focus, simulating situations that may be encountered in real-world operations.
In the Trailing session, training was conducted with the cooperation of helpers. The exercises included foundational motivation runs and confirmation of the dog’s association between scent articles and the trail.
Additional scenarios included turns, scent work in open spaces, and handling under distraction, allowing each unit’s responses and future training needs to be assessed.
In the HRD session, training was conducted under both conditions where the scent cone was relatively easy for the dogs to detect, and conditions outside a building where the scent cone was more difficult to locate.
In an environment with complex obstacles, the teams worked on approaches to the source odor, canine responses, and handler interpretation.
In the Disaster Search session, teams conducted searches under conditions where multiple mock victims were placed within the search area. The dogs’ indication behavior toward mock victims in confined spaces was also confirmed.
For beginner-level dogs, indication training was conducted with the aim of building motivation toward the helper and strengthening the bark alert, including exercises involving entry into a building.
NSA will continue to provide training appropriate to each unit’s current level, with the goal of improving canine working ability, handler decision-making, and safe team operations required in real-world search environments.We sincerely thank everyone who assisted with the training.

Trailing Unit

Trailingでは、モチベーションランから次のステップへの移行が順調に進んでおり、犬のネガティブ反応も非常に分かりやすく表れていました。また、ハンドラーの観察力も安定してきており、犬の反応を適切に読み取る場面が多く見られました。今回のトレールコース上には、過去にヘルパーとして犬と接点のあったメンバーにもディストラクションとして配置に協力してもらいました。
そのような条件下でも、犬が追うべき臭跡を選別できるかを確認することができ、実働を想定した非常に有意義なトレーニングとなりました。
In the Trailing session, the dogs showed steady progress from motivation runs to the next stage of training. Their negative responses were also clear and easy to interpret, and the handlers’ observational skills have become increasingly stable.During this training, members who had previously acted as helpers for the dogs were positioned along the trail as distractions.
This allowed us to assess whether the dogs could correctly discriminate the target trail from familiar human distractions. It proved to be a highly valuable training exercise with practical relevance to real-world search operations.

意欲の高い犬については、モチベーションランのルーティンによって興奮が高まる場面も見られました。
その一方で、伏臥の姿勢で落ち着きを維持させながら、次のステップへ進むトレーニングを行うことができました。屈折部分では、ヘルパーが一時的に留まることでセントプールを形成し、犬が臭跡の方向性をより明確に認識できるよう設定しました。その結果、屈折後の進行方向に対する理解が見られ、トレーニングの段階として有効な確認ができました。また、オープンスペースを含む屈折箇所では、キャスティングからのネガティブ反応も確認されました。
一方で、犬の反応が非常に早く、ハンドラーがその変化を見極めきれない場面もあったため、今後は犬の反応をより正確に読み取ることを課題として取り組んでいきます。
ディストラクションへの反応を抑え、追うべき臭跡をより明確に選別できるよう、今後もトレーニングのステップを細分化しながら進めていきます。
For highly motivated dogs, there were some moments in which the routine of the motivation run further increased their level of excitement.At the same time, the dogs were able to maintain composure in a down position and proceed to the next stage of training in a more controlled manner.
At the turns, the helpers temporarily remained in place to create a scent pool, allowing the dogs to more clearly recognize the direction of the trail.As a result, the dogs showed an improved understanding of the direction after the turn, making this a valuable step in the training process.
In turn areas that included open spaces, negative responses following casting behavior were also observed.
However, in some cases, the dogs’ responses were very quick, making it difficult for the handlers to identify and interpret the changes in time. Improving the handlers’ ability to accurately read these responses will be an important training focus going forward.We will continue to break down the training steps in greater detail so that the dogs can better discriminate the target trail while reducing responses to distractions.

HRD Unit

HRDでは、セントプールが形成され、ソースからのセントコーンを捉えやすい環境と、建物外に複数の障害物があり、さらに逆風となる難易度の高い環境の両方で捜索を実施しました。セントコーンを捉えやすい設定であっても、周囲の環境音などの影響を受け、捜索への集中が途切れる場面が見られました。
また、難易度の高い環境下では、ソースへの意欲が低下する場面があり、TFRの精度にも課題が見られました。今後は、捜索環境への適応力を高めながら、ソースに対する意欲とTFRの精度を向上させることを課題として、段階的にトレーニングを進めていきます。
In the HRD session, searches were conducted under two different conditions: one in which a scent pool had formed and the scent cone from the source was relatively easy for the dog to detect, and another more challenging setting outside a building, where several obstacles were present and the dog had to work against the wind.
Even in the easier setting where the scent cone was relatively accessible, there were moments when the dog was affected by environmental sounds and had difficulty maintaining focus on the search.
In the more challenging environment, the dog’s motivation toward the source decreased further, and a decline in the accuracy of the TFR was also observed.Going forward, training will focus on improving the dog’s ability to work confidently in different search environments, while also strengthening motivation toward the source and increasing the accuracy of the TFR.

Disaster Unit

Disasterでは、犬の意欲、集中力ともに充実しており、要救助者役に到達した後も、速やかなバークアラートと告知動作の持続が確認できました。また、完全に遮蔽された空間に対する告知も以前より安定しており、自信を持った明確な告知が見られました。
これまでのトレーニングの積み重ねにより、発見後の告知行動に安定性が出てきています。一方で、犬の動きが速い分、ハンドラーによる適切なハンドリングは、犬の危険回避において非常に重要です。
今後も、足場の状況や周囲の安全を十分に把握しながら、犬の動きを妨げず、かつ安全を確保できるハンドリングを意識してトレーニングを継続していきます。
In the Disaster Search session, the dog showed strong motivation and focus throughout the search. After reaching the mock victim, the dog promptly performed a bark alert and was able to maintain the indication behavior.The indication toward a fully concealed space was also more stable than before, and the dog demonstrated a clear and confident alert.Through continued training, greater stability is now being observed in the dog’s indication behavior after locating the victim.At the same time, because the dog moves quickly, appropriate handling by the handler is essential for avoiding potential hazards.
Going forward, training will continue with an emphasis on maintaining awareness of footing and surrounding safety conditions, while handling the dog in a way that supports its movement and ensures safety.

初歩段階の犬については、ヘルパーに対する意欲を高め、到達後に素早く告知できるようにすることを目的として、呼び込みによる基礎トレーニングを行いました。その後、ランナウェイ形式で、犬の視界からは捉えられない場所へ移動したヘルパーを捜索し、到達後に告知するトレーニングを連続して実施しました。
ヘルパーへの意欲づけから捜索、告知までの流れを確認することができ、今後のDisasterトレーニングにつながる良い基礎確認となりました。
For beginner-level dogs, foundational training was conducted using call-in exercises, with the aim of building motivation toward the helper and encouraging a prompt indication after reaching the helper.
The dogs then progressed to runaway-style exercises, in which the helper moved to a location outside the dog’s line of sight. The dogs were able to work through a sequence of searching for the hidden helper and indicating upon arrival.
This provided a valuable opportunity to confirm the basic flow from motivation toward the helper, to searching, and finally to indication, forming an important foundation for future Disaster Search training.
