NSA Trailing/Disaster/HRD 訓練会レポート_2026.05.24

2026年5月24日（日曜日）、Trailing／Disaster／HRD訓練会を開催しました。
今回の訓練会では、訓練補助にご協力いただける方々にもご参加いただき、各分野で実働を想定した実践的なトレーニングを行いました。
Trailingでは、ヘルパーの協力のもと、基礎となるモチベーションランを含め、物品と臭跡の関連付けを確認しました。また、屈折、オープンスペースにおける臭跡への反応、ディストラクション環境下でのハンドリングなどを設定し、各ユニットの反応や今後の課題を確認しました。
HRDでは、風の影響によりセントコーンが拡散しやすく原臭の特定が難しい環境設定と、原臭が屋外へ拡散しにくい条件の両方でトレーニングを実施しました。
障害物が複雑に配置された環境下において、原臭へのアプローチ、犬の反応、そしてハンドラーの読み取り精度について検証を行いました。
Disasterでは、捜索エリア内に複数の要救助者役が存在する条件下での捜索と、閉鎖空間内の要救助者役に対する告知とハンドラーの役割の確認を行いました。
また、初歩段階の犬については、ヘルパーへの意欲づけとバークアラートの強化を目的に告知トレーニングを実施しました。
NSAでは、今後も各ユニットの段階に応じた訓練を継続し、実働現場で求められる犬の作業能力、ハンドラーの判断力、安全なチーム運用の向上に努めてまいります。

A Trailing / Disaster / HRD training session was conducted on Sunday, May 24, 2026.During this training session, volunteer training assistants also participated, and practical operational training was carried out across each discipline under realistic deployment conditions.
In Trailing, foundational motivation runs were conducted with the cooperation of helpers to confirm the association between scent articles and target trails.
Training scenarios also included trail turns, reactions to scent movement in open spaces, and handling under distraction-rich environments, allowing evaluation of each unit’s responses and identification of future training objectives.
In HRD, training was conducted under two different environmental conditions: one in which scent cones were easily dispersed by wind, making source identification difficult, and another in which source odor was less likely to disperse outdoors.
Within environments containing complex obstacle arrangements, evaluations were conducted on source odor approach behavior, canine responses, and the handler’s ability to accurately interpret behavioral changes.
In Disaster, search exercises were conducted under conditions involving multiple victim role players within the search area, including confirmation of alert behavior toward victims located in confined spaces and evaluation of the handler’s operational role during the search process.
For beginner-level dogs, alert training was also conducted with a focus on strengthening motivation toward helpers and developing bark alert behavior.NSA will continue to provide training appropriate to the developmental stage of each unit, with the goal of improving operational search capability, handler decision-making, and safe team deployment in real-world environments.

Trailing Unit

Trailingでは、モチベーションランにおけるポジティブ反応と、物品に対する理解が安定してきています。また、次のステップへの移行に際しては、失敗経験を極力与えないよう環境設定を考慮しながらトレーニングを進めていることもあり、ディストラクションに対する反応は大きく低下してきています。
一方で、今回のトレールコース上には、過去にヘルパーとして犬と接点のあったメンバーにもディストラクション役として配置協力をいただきました。そのような条件下においても、犬が追従すべき臭跡を適切に選別できるかを確認することができ、実働を想定した非常に有意義なトレーニングとなりました。
In Trailing, positive responses during motivation runs and the dogs’ understanding of scent articles have become increasingly stable.In preparation for progression to the next training stage, sessions have been carefully structured to minimize failure experiences, resulting in a significant reduction in reactions toward distractions.At the same time, members who had previously interacted with the dogs as helpers were intentionally positioned along the trail course as distraction sources.Even under these conditions, the dogs were able to appropriately discriminate and follow the target trail, making this a highly meaningful training session conducted under realistic operational assumptions.

意欲の高い犬については、コンタミネーション環境下において、提示された特定臭の選別セッションを実施しました。
周囲のメンバーの臭気とヘルパー臭との識別反応を確認することができ、特にスタート時のビギニングサークルにおける作業精度について検証を行いました。ビギニングサークルでの作業は、Trailingにおける重要な基礎要素の一つとなります。
一方で、臭跡が移動・拡散しやすい環境条件下でのトレール捜索については、短距離設定の中で成功体験を積み重ねるトレーニングを実施しました。ディストラクションへの反応を抑制しながら、追従すべき臭跡をより明確に選別できるよう、今後もトレーニングステップを細分化し、段階的に進めていきます。
For highly motivated dogs, scent discrimination sessions were conducted under contamination-rich conditions using designated target odors.The dogs’ ability to distinguish between surrounding human scent contamination and the helper’s target odor was evaluated, with particular focus placed on work accuracy within the beginning circle at the start of the trail. Work conducted in the beginning circle represents one of the fundamental core elements of Trailing.
In contrast, for trail searches conducted under environmental conditions where scent movement and dispersion occurred easily, training focused on accumulating successful experiences through short-distance trail settings.
Training steps will continue to be broken down progressively in order to suppress reactions to distractions and further improve the dogs’ ability to clearly discriminate and commit to the target trail.

HRD Unit

HRDでは、風の影響によりセントコーンが拡散しやすく、原臭の特定が難しい環境設定と、原臭が屋外へ拡散しにくい条件の両方でトレーニングを実施しました。障害物が複雑に配置された環境下において、原臭へのアプローチ、犬の反応、そしてハンドラーの読み取り精度について検証を行いました。
また、難易度の高い環境条件下では、ソースに対するコミットメントが低下する場面も見られ、それに伴いTFR（Trained Final Response）の精度にも課題が確認されました。今後は、捜索環境への適応力を高めながら、原臭へのコミットメント強化とTFRの安定性向上を課題として、段階的にトレーニングを進めていきます。
In HRD, training was conducted under two different environmental conditions: one in which scent cones were easily dispersed by wind, making source odor identification difficult, and another in which source odor was less likely to disperse outdoors.
Within environments containing complex obstacle arrangements, evaluations were conducted on approaches to source odor, canine behavioral responses, and the handler’s ability to accurately interpret those responses.
Under higher-difficulty environmental conditions, moments of reduced commitment toward the source were observed, and corresponding challenges in the precision of the TFR (Trained Final Response) were also identified.
Moving forward, training will continue in a progressive manner with emphasis on improving environmental adaptability, strengthening commitment to source odor, and increasing the overall stability and reliability of the TFR.

Disaster Unit

Disasterでは、犬の意欲・集中力ともに高い状態が維持されており、要救助者役への到達後も、速やかなバークアラートと持続的な告知動作が確認されました。また、完全に遮蔽された空間に対する告知についても、以前と比較して安定性が向上しており、自信を持った明確な告知反応が見られました。これまでのトレーニングの積み重ねにより、発見後の告知行動には安定性が表れてきています。一方で、犬の移動速度が速い分、ハンドラーによる適切なハンドリングは、犬の安全確保および危険回避において極めて重要となります。
今後も、足場状況や周囲環境の安全確認を十分に行いながら、犬の動きを妨げることなく、安全性を確保できるハンドリングを意識し、継続的にトレーニングを進めていきます。
In Disaster, the dogs maintained a high level of motivation and concentration throughout the search work, and rapid bark alerts along with sustained alert behavior were confirmed after reaching the victim role players.
Alert behavior toward completely concealed spaces also showed improved stability compared to previous sessions, with clear and confident indications being observed.
Through the accumulation of previous training, greater consistency and stability in post-find alert behavior have become evident.
At the same time, due to the dogs’ high movement speed, appropriate handler management is critically important for both canine safety and hazard avoidance during operational movement.
Training will continue with an emphasis on maintaining environmental awareness, including careful assessment of footing conditions and surrounding hazards, while ensuring handling techniques that preserve both operational safety and the dogs’ natural search performance without unnecessary interference.

初歩段階の犬については、ヘルパーに対する意欲を高め、到達後に速やかに告知行動へ移行できるようにすることを目的として、呼び込みを用いた基礎トレーニングを実施しました。ヘルパーへの意欲づけから捜索、告知までの一連の流れを確認することができ、今後のDisasterトレーニングにつながる有意義な基礎確認となりました。
For beginner-level dogs, foundational training using recall-based exercises was conducted with the objective of increasing motivation toward helpers and developing the ability to transition smoothly into alert behavior upon reaching the victim role player.
The training allowed confirmation of the complete sequence from helper motivation, search engagement, and final alert behavior, providing a meaningful foundational assessment for future Disaster training progression.
