1. 目的

本要綱は、NSAサーチドッグ適性試験におけるオビディエンス部門の実施方法を定めるものである。

適性試験オビディエンスは、犬とハンドラーの安全性、基本的なコントロール性、今後サーチドッグとして訓練を継続できる可能性を確認することを目的とする。

1. Purpose

These guidelines define how the obedience component of the NSA Search Dog Aptitude Test is conducted.

The Aptitude Test obedience component confirms the safety of the dog and handler, basic controllability, and the potential to continue training as a search dog team.

2. 評価方針

適性試験では、以下を重視する。

• ハンドラーが犬を安全にコントロールできること
• 犬に過度な興奮、逃避、攻撃性が認められないこと
• 犬に作業意欲があり、今後の訓練継続が可能と判断できること

2. Evaluation Policy

The evaluation emphasizes safe control by the handler, absence of excessive excitement, avoidance, or aggression, work motivation, handler interpretation, avoidance of excessive guidance, safe work, and the potential for continued training or progression to certification as appropriate.

3. 審査員の権限および実施判断

試験の進行および各課目の実施判断は、審査員の指示に基づいて行う。

各課目の開始および終了は、審査員の指示により行う。

課目の進行順は、審査員の指示に基づくものとする。

ハンドラーは、審査員の指示を受けてから犬に指示を出す。

待機の距離、呼び戻しの距離、各課目の時間、順序、実施方法は、要綱に定める基準を基本とする。

ただし、会場条件、安全面、当日の状態により、審査員は距離、時間、順序、実施方法を調整できる。

審査員は、犬またはハンドラーの安全に支障があると判断した場合、課目の中止、再実施、距離の短縮、または試験の中止を指示できる。

ハンドラーは、審査員の指示に従い、犬を安全にコントロールしなければならない。

審査員の指示なく課目を開始した場合、または指示と異なる方法で実施した場合は、減点、再実施、不合格、または失格の対象となる場合がある。

3. Examiner Authority and Implementation Judgment

The progress of the test and the implementation of each exercise are based on the examiner’s instructions.

The start and end of exercises, order of exercises, distances, duration, search area, source or helper setting, and methods are based on these guidelines, and may be adjusted by the examiner according to venue conditions, safety, and the condition of the dog and handler.

If safety is compromised, the examiner may stop an exercise, order a reattempt, shorten the distance or area, or terminate the test. The handler must follow the examiner’s instructions and maintain safe control.

4. ハンドラーの指示・声符・視符および誉め言葉の扱い

ハンドラーは、各課目において、必要に応じて声符および視符を使用することができる。

課目中の誉め言葉、励ましは許されるが、連続的な声がけ、犬を誘導し続けるような声符・視符、または犬に過度な圧をかける指示は認めない。

課目と課目の間に、犬を落ち着かせるための誉め言葉や励ましを行うことは認める。

4. Handler Commands, Verbal/Visual Cues, and Praise

The handler may use verbal and visual cues as needed during each exercise.

Praise and encouragement are permitted as specified, but continuous verbal prompting, ongoing guidance that directs the dog through the exercise, or commands that place excessive pressure on the dog are not permitted.

Praise or encouragement between exercises may be used to help the dog settle.

5. 実施課目

適性試験オビディエンスでは、以下の課目を実施する。

• 申告・犬の健康状態の確認
• リード付きコントロール歩行
• 短距離待機
• 短距離呼び戻し
• 環境刺激への反応確認

短距離待機の際の犬の姿勢は、伏臥または停座とする。
姿勢は、犬の訓練段階や当日の状態に応じて、ハンドラーが選択できるものとする。

5. Test Exercises

The exercises to be conducted are listed in this section. The dog’s posture during the wait is either down or sit, depending on the dog’s training stage and condition, unless otherwise specified.

6. 申告・犬の健康状態の確認

目的

犬が安全に試験を受けられる状態かを確認する。

実施方法

ハンドラーは犬をリードで安全にコントロールした状態で審査員にゼッケン・犬名・ハンドラー名を申告する。

審査員は、犬の健康状態、疲労、不調、極端な興奮や不安、首輪・ハーネス・リード等の安全性を確認する。

評価

以下を評価する。

• 犬の健康状態に問題がないこと
• ハンドラーが犬を安全に保持できること
• 人または犬に対する攻撃性が認められないこと
• 犬が制御不能でないこと

6. Reporting and Health Condition Check

The handler reports the bib number, dog’s name, and handler’s name to the examiner while keeping the dog safely under control.

The examiner confirms the dog’s health condition, whether fatigue or discomfort may interfere with work, and the safety of equipment such as collar, harness, and leash.

This check is not for microchip or individual identification; it is to confirm that the test can be conducted safely.

7. リード付きコントロール歩行

目的

リード付きの状態で、ハンドラーが犬を安全にコントロールして歩けるかを確認する。

実施方法

ハンドラーは、審査員の指示に従い、犬とともに歩行する。

歩行距離、方向転換、停止、速度変化、屈折方向については、あらかじめ定められた固定コースではなく、審査員が当日の会場条件および安全面を考慮して指示する。

審査員は、必要に応じて以下の動作を指示することができる。

• 常歩
• 緩歩
• 速歩
• 停止
• 右折
• 左折
• 右回り
• 左回り
• 人や物の近くの通過
• 狭い場所または障害物付近の通過
• 軽度の環境刺激下での歩行

評価

以下を評価する。

• ハンドラーが審査員の指示に従って犬を安全にコントロールできること
• 常歩・緩歩・速歩の速度変化に対応できること
• 右折・左折・右回り・左回りにおいて、犬を安全に誘導できること
• 犬が大きく逸脱しないこと
• 犬が人、犬、物音、周囲の環境に過度に反応しないこと
• ハンドラーがリードや身体を使って犬を乱暴に制御していないこと

7. Controlled Walking on Leash

Controlled walking confirms whether the handler can move safely with the dog under control in a field operation environment.

Walking distance, turns, stops, speed changes, and direction changes are not based on a fixed course; the examiner gives instructions according to venue conditions and safety.

The examiner may instruct normal pace, slow pace, fast pace, stopping, right and left turns, clockwise and counterclockwise turns, passing near people or objects, passing through narrow areas or near obstacles, and walking under mild environmental distractions.

The evaluation confirms that the handler follows the examiner’s instructions, safely controls and guides the dog, handles speed and direction changes, prevents major deviation, and does not control the dog roughly with the leash or body.

8. 短距離待機

目的

犬が短時間、その場に留まることができるかを確認する。

実施方法

ハンドラーは犬を伏臥または停座で待機させ、審査員が指示した所定の位置まで離れる。

待機姿勢は、犬の訓練段階や当日の状態に応じて、ハンドラーが選択できるものとする。

ハンドラーは犬から離れた後、審査員の指示する、犬と対面しない姿勢を維持する。

距離と時間は、会場条件に応じて審査員が調整する。

評価

以下を評価する。

• 犬が2m以上移動しないこと
• ハンドラーが犬を落ち着いて待たせていること
• 犬が過度に不安、興奮、逃避に傾かないこと

8. Short-Distance Wait

The short-distance wait confirms whether the dog can remain in place for a short period.

The handler places the dog in a down or sit and moves to the position instructed by the examiner. After leaving the dog, the handler maintains a posture instructed by the examiner in which the handler does not face the dog.

The distance and duration may be adjusted according to venue conditions. The evaluation includes whether the dog moves less than two meters and remains calm without excessive anxiety, excitement, or escape behavior.

9. 短距離呼び戻し

目的

犬がハンドラーの呼び戻しに反応するかを確認する。

実施方法

犬を短距離待機させた後、審査員の指示により、ハンドラーは犬を呼び戻す。

距離は会場条件に応じて審査員が調整する。

評価

以下を評価する。

• 犬がハンドラー方向へ戻ること
• 呼び戻しに対する意欲があること
• 大きく逸脱しないこと
• 最終的に脚側停座で終了できること

9. Short-Distance Recall

The short-distance recall confirms whether the dog responds to the handler’s recall.

At the examiner’s instruction, the handler recalls the dog after a short-distance wait. The evaluation confirms that the dog moves toward the handler without major deviation and that the handler can safely regain control.

10. 環境刺激への反応確認

目的

犬が試験環境や軽度の刺激に対して、過度に反応しないかを確認する。

実施方法

人の移動、物音、他犬との距離、会場環境など、実施可能な範囲で軽度の刺激を確認する。

評価

以下を評価する。

• 犬が過度に逃避、興奮しないこと
• ハンドラーが犬を安全にコントロールできること
• 刺激後に作業へ戻れること

10. Confirmation of Response to Environmental Stimuli

Field operations involve many distractions such as people moving, other dogs, vehicles, sounds, footing, and surrounding activity.

Stability under distractions confirms whether the dog avoids excessive excitement, avoidance, or aggression and whether the handler can maintain safe control.

Distractions may be incorporated into the exercises as needed rather than set as a large independent exercise.

11. 合否判断

適性試験オビディエンスでは、、今後の訓練継続に必要な安全性と可能性を重視する。

以下の場合は合格または適性ありと判断できる。

• 犬に作業継続の可能性がある
• ハンドラーが犬を安全に扱えている
• ハンドラーからの指示理解が見られる

以下の場合は不合格または不適とする。

• 犬が制御不能である
• 犬の体調不良が明らかである
• 安全に試験を継続できない

失格および試験中止については、NSAサーチドッグ オビディエンス規定に定める基準を適用する。

11. Pass/Fail Determination

Pass or fail is determined comprehensively, not only by the success or failure of each exercise.

Safety, controllability, work motivation, handler response, and suitability for field operations are considered.

Minor mistakes may still allow a pass or conditional pass if safety is maintained and the handler responds appropriately. Lack of recall, inability to wait, aggression, severe loss of control, or inappropriate handler conduct may result in failure or disqualification.
